SHARATVA STUDIO

Contemporary home decor and original art by Jhalak Raijada

ABOUT THE STUDIO

Rooted in material experimentation and quiet contrasts

Sharatva began the way most meaningful things do — quietly, during a pause that became a revelation.

For Jhalak Raijada, the stillness of Covid was not lost time but found clarity. It was the moment she chose to bring forth the surreal images from her mind in front of the world — and let story and craft lead the way. Sharatva was born from that decision.

Her love for craft had deep roots. During her undergraduate years at NIFT Delhi, a craft cluster programme took her to Almora, where alongside local artisans she shaped something rare — a modern object built on age-old technique. That work was later recognised by Elle Decor, but what it left her with was more lasting: it gave her a conviction: that craft, when led by story, becomes something irreplaceable.

That conviction is at the heart of everything Sharatva makes. The pieces are a result of a deep dialogue between emotion, the intangible and life, the experience in time, driven by material and craft. The heart and soul of works resides in their form and texture. The thought is to create pieces— Art, Decor and Objects —that demand attention and conversation.

“Not everything meant to be felt needs to be explained.”

WALL SCULPTURES

The relief works under Sharatva exist at the intersection of art, material, and spatial experience.

Built through layers of wood, metal, fabric, texture, and form, each piece is developed through an intuitive process where composition gradually reveals itself over time.

The works are deeply tied to the idea of solace—not as escape, but as an awareness of what truly holds us together amidst the noise of contemporary life.

ONE OF ORIGINAL ART

ONE OF ORIGINAL ART

Alongside Sharatva, Jhalak’s original paintings explore more personal and existential reflections surrounding perception, memory, identity, and the experience of being.

These works are often driven by questions rather than conclusions—allowing emotion, spontaneity, and subconscious forms to guide the process.
